These terms govern your use of the Rate My Coach mobile app ("RMC"). By creating an account or using RMC you agree to them.
You must be at least 13 years old to use RMC. You agree to provide accurate information at signup, including your account role. Role selection matters: only former college athletes may write coach reviews, and misrepresenting your role to post reviews is grounds for account termination. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
Reviews must reflect your genuine, first-hand experience playing for the coach you review. Each former athlete may submit up to three reviews, one per coach, in the sport they played. You may not post content that is knowingly false, defamatory, harassing, threatening, obscene, discriminatory, or that reveals private information about any person. You may not use RMC to settle personal scores unrelated to your athletic experience.
You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant RMC a worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and moderate that content within the app and related services. Reviews are displayed anonymously, but you remain responsible for what you write.
RMC has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Content that is harassing, threatening, obscene, defamatory, discriminatory, or that reveals private information about any person is prohibited, and users who post it may have their accounts suspended or terminated.
Every review can be flagged in-app, and you may report any review or coach listing directly from the app. We aim to review reported content and act on it — including removing content and suspending or ejecting the users responsible — within 24 hours. Because reviews are displayed anonymously and RMC has no messaging, commenting, profile browsing, or other user-to-user interaction of any kind — you can follow a coach to be notified of new reviews, but users cannot find, follow, or contact one another — reporting and moderation are the primary tools for addressing abusive content. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms at our discretion and without prior notice. We do not endorse any review; reviews are the opinions of their authors, not of RMC.
The verified badge indicates we were able to confirm an athlete's playing history from the information they submitted. It is a good-faith check, not a guarantee, and may be revoked if the underlying information proves inaccurate.
Coach names, schools, and roles displayed in RMC are directory information compiled from public sources and user submissions. If you believe information about a coach is incorrect, use the in-app reporting tools. Coaches who wish to dispute content may contact us directly.
You may not scrape, harvest, or bulk-export data from RMC; attempt to identify anonymous reviewers; access another user's account; interfere with the operation of the service; or use RMC for any unlawful purpose.
You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (content licenses, disclaimers, limitations of liability) survive.
RMC is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that reviews are accurate or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Recruiting decisions are yours alone — RMC is a research tool, not advice.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RMC and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of opportunity, arising from your use of the service or from content posted by other users.
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
